Refusal @ Interview Wrong Birth Certificate

Anyone had a similar situation to me? Had 2 birth certificates, uploaded one to CEAC but then took the other to interview last Wednesday!! The CO gave me the green refusal form and told me to upload the one I had brought with me to the CEAC portal and then we will be good to go. The lady did keep my passport but I’m wandering just how long it may take to revisit my file. I did email the submissions email for London and they acknowledged my email and said my file had been passed to the officer for review. After nearly 500 days since we started this journey I guess a few more days won’t hurt but just how long……any ideas?

Allow a week from when you uploaded for them to get back to you. Remember Monday was a holiday so this week will have some catch up time needed because of the missed day.

I had my interview in London last week. I also got a green refusal form because my new police certificate hadn't been uploaded into the CEAC system. It was uploaded later that day.
That was Monday and my status was Refused. On Tuesday, it changed to Administrative Processing. On Wednesday it changed to Issued. On Thursday, my passport with visa was delivered to my house.
So hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

That makes me feel a little worse actually….my interview was 2 days later than yours and now it’s 4 working days later and still refused! 😬

Strangely that nearly happen to me. I had paid for a duplicate birth certificate and uploaded to CEAC, but later on I found the original at my parent’s house and popped it into my folder. When we went to the Embassy, I handed over the original not realising that it had a different serial number to the copy! The CO picked up on it and asked me if I had a copy of the one I uploaded! Luckily I did.

If you saw the same lady as we did, she won’t hang about. She kept your passport so it was ready to be processed as soon as you amended your records. Our visa was delivered in 5 days. Good luck.

Did you upload the birth certificate shortly after the interview, after hours on day of interview, or the next day?

Within 2 hours the document was uploaded and submitted. So interview and refusal last Wednesday morning….birth certificate uploaded 2 hours later……emailed submissions on Friday midday who replied “case passed to the officer for review”. Today still refused.

The officer could be on holiday this week or has other things piled up to work on, plus the new interviews coming through. The delay doesn’t mean it’s bad news. When you get out of the queue for lack of a document, then you might have to wait longer for them to work you back in. Stressful? Yes for sure.

My parents wait was about 4 weeks after the new birth certificates and medical documents arrived and the only thing that seemed to break the logjam was a congressional inquiry. Although the response to the inquiry was that nothing had been received, they misspelled our last name completely and yet on the same day they responded to the congressional office their case moved from rejected to ready to administrative processing and then the next day to approved. Weird given they claimed they didn't have the documentation

Very true….I know we are approved I was told at interview, I just had to upload the birth certificate that was seen at interview so I’m not expecting bad news. It’s just the waiting game still…..and the unknown of just when! I mean how long can they keep your passport? 😑

Until they finish with it or you request it back because you need to travel.  Some have ended up being there months.

Still no movement…….I fail to see once notified how difficult/time consuming it is to log in to a case that’s verbally approved to review a scan upload! Unfortunately yes after nearly 500 days in this whole process frustration is setting in!! 😤……..Rant over.

That’s a positive sign. Somebody is working on it.

Sorry to invade the thread but my parents have their interview date in August and it says to take the originals of the civil documents - do they need all of my originals too like my birth, marriage, naturalisation or will a copy be ok? I'm the petitioner.  They have their original birth and marriage to take.
