Will be filing the I-751 paperwork for Removal of Conditions in late August.   When we married in June 2019 I did not change my surname to my husbands but going to do so soon.  We have just been waiting for Social Security offices to start allowing in person appointments again to be able to make the change.  My question is this.  Does it make sense to do the name change at the same time as filing the I-751 paperwork so we are basically killing two birds with one stone, or is it better to file the I-751 and then after that is in progress file the name change.   I believe the cost will be the same no matter what because they are going to charge for the name change separately.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  TIA!

  Maybe not...

It would be better to do the name change during the n400 naturalization process... USCIS is all set to officially change name then, it is part of the application.

Name change now may complicate the i751 process.
