this sure is starting to get really frustraing.... :) ha... anyway once one problem question arises two more follow right after... ha... my fiance just recently graduated from college... shes 26 now.. and has only been working for a gym as a fitness consultant for 4 months. before that as a freelance facilitator for a couple companies for a year.. that leaves almost 4 yrs for unemployment...

will it be better to state IN COLLEGE next to unemployed for those years or not ?

to me if they are looking at her last 5 yrs of employment and just see one yr im not sure that will be a hinderance or not.

any ideas or help ?

I would just state that she was unemployed for the years that she was in college. The college part can be added as well, but not necessary.

Gaps in employment are not really a problem, as long as you explain them and most importantly don't try to hide it (not implying that you will or would). If she was in college, state so. Always be truthful.

And yup, immigration processes are as frustrating as my boss.... :hehe:

Good luck, L.

I agree. In college is not a job.

Many people go through the same thing as you. I worked while I was in college (as long as I was in the U.S.). When I studied abroad I wrote UNEMPLOYED for those months - because I was.

Your employment record needs to be as accurate as possible but it's not a big deal if you were unemployed while you were in college. That's normal.

They ask for your education - so they'll see that.

Of course - no problem. The G-325A document is a part of the I-129F application.
