I have come to the conclusion that an escalation is a waste of time for two reasons.

1)First, when you call USEM you connect with the USEM help desk and they merely just forward an escalation request to USEM. Thereafter, USEM can close the request at any time without any notice that it has been closed and without providing a reason. There is also no way to check to see the status of your escalation aside from calling as well.

2)Second, You're only recourse is to make another escalation and you can only do that if you're lucky enough to connect someone on the phone.

At this point, its ridiculous that the auto replies from emails are not consistent with what is stated on USEM's website. Our case has been sitting at USEM since March 2020 and I can easily see them not even getting to it until 2022.

Agreed

It seems the escalation deal is a just a nice way to get you off the phone and to stop calling for a while.

Has anyone went over to the Embassy and asked what in the heck is going on here?

You cant just show up.  It will be impossible to get in without an appointment.  The only time Ive been able to get in without an appointment was when I had my passport stolen and I called to give them the heads up that I was stopping by.  That was on the USC side, to get in on the visa side and being a non-USC, it will be impossible.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

I was gearing it toward any US Citizens, but then again if you are a US Citizen with a K1 more than likely you can't enter the Philippines, so that probably not going to happen, if you a Filipino the US Embassy will tell you pack sand.

I was over there a few years ago staying across street from USEM on vacation, it was like holy week and they were closed for a few day, I was trying to get a ballot to vote. I had a like 3 security guards tell me they couldn't help me,  I finally told them they had no clue and I finally got to the window and was given a landline phone passed to me thru the opening and finally was able to talk to a US citizen and they brought me out a ballot, but it was me being persistent.  After I got hold of an American it was smooth sailing, just getting past the Philippines security guard telling me no, was the only issue.
