Hi everyone,

I haven't posted on here in a long time. My marriage unfortunately did not work out and I'm at the very end of divorce proceedings right now - my divorce decree should be here any day now. I've read a LOT of posts on here and elsewhere about filing the I751 waiver and I've started pulling evidence together to show that our marriage was genuine. I guess I just wanted to say it all out loud to you guys in the hope that someone will confirm what I have so far is correct and perhaps point out anything I may have missed.

My 2 year conditional green care expires in August this year and I know I can file my papers as soon as I have that divorce decree. In anticipation of it being here within the next month, I've start gathering evidence. This is what I have so far:

- copy of marriage certificate
- pictures from our wedding, engagement shoot, pictures of us with my family and our friends
- two years of tax returns showing that we filed jointly
- utility bills in both our names, showing the same address
- copy of our rental agreement
- our previous landlord does not have a copy of the agreement as it was a while ago, but I have asked him to write a letter on official paper stating we lived there together
- we had marriage counselling sessions for a while, so our therapist is going to make amendments to notes and let me have a copy and also a copy of all the dates of our sessions

- copy of both sides of my green card
- a voided check showing our previous joint bank account
- a copy of my emergency contact information showing my husband as my emergency contact
- receipts for gifts purchased for him
- I still have all our wedding cards so I was going to include a few of those
- I will include phone logs showing we called eachother, texts showing we communicated as husband and wife
- screenshots of facebook posts, pictures of us spending days out together and doing things as a married couple

This is what I wanted to get advice on...

As our marriage started to break down, my ex husband became verbally and emotionally abusive. I have screenshots of texts he sent me during a period of about a year when things were rocky. I can contact the police for a police report as I had to report him on two separate occasions during this time. Is this going to be helpful to show why the marriage ultimately ended? I'm not filing for a waiver based on abuse, as it was never physical. Is it worth me including this verbal abuse to show why I wanted a divorce in the end?

If there is anything else you think I need to include, please let me know.

Thank you.

I think you have plenty of evidence of a good faith marriage. Things happen a d they see it every day. IMO they don’t really need to know why the marriage broke down. They just need to see that the immigration was for the right reasons and not some fake marriage fraud. You have that evidence.
