Passport Return – how long did it take for you?

I got approved last Wednesday (17) and haven't had any kind of email yet – that's normal, right? I wasn't necessarily expecting to have it back yet but thought I might get a confirmation email. I haven't had anything. Do they literally just email you for the first time when it's ready?

And if anyone else has had theirs returned recently, would you mind sharing timelines? My husband already left and I'm just living in a hotel waiting lol.

Yes.

Check your CEAC status and see if it says “Issued” yet. That happens before it is turned over to the courier to be packaged for delivery.

Thank you for the confirmation! Where is it supposed to say issued? By the document list?

You can check the status here: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

Once you put in your details and the Captcha code your status should be in bold letters in the pop up screen that appears.

Thank you for that! It just says ‘Ready’ lol. Last updated today. So I guess it’s not left the embassy yet.

Nope. It may say AP at some point while they are still processing or stay at Ready. When it says Issued, it means it’s printed and in your passport. Then they give it to the courier and you will get notification when to expect delivery. There might be a day in between after Ready when the courier is doing their thing.
