Hi,

We just received our NOA and our biometrics appointment notice today. (Finally--yay!) The biometrics appt is scheduled for July 13 at 1pm. The problem is that we will be overseas from July 7th through July 26th. I've read that it's easy to reschedule the appt, and there are instructions on how to do so on the notice. However, the day after we return to the US from vacation, we are moving to a different state, at which point we will have a different local office.

Any suggestions about how to manoeuvre the biometrics appt rescheduling along with the appropriate time to file our change of address?

I figure we'll have to call the Customer Service number to figure it out, but I just thought I'd try to get some advice from everyone here first!

Thanks!!!

Hi,

Just wondering what the outcome was for changing your biometrics appointment to a different office? Also, how have things gone with your change of address?

I'm going to be in a similar situation soon - filing AOS in November in North Carolina and then moving to California in January.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks.

We did it for the AOS biometrics appointment when we were moving from Salt Lake City to California. It was no big deal at all, we just called and explained and they rescheduled for us in the Fresno office before we ever left Utah. I think the appointment ended up being just a few days after we arrived in CA.

Thanks Sara,

Did you also have to change your address for your interview? Did they move it from Utah to Fresno? If so, did this affect your EAD at all???

Thanks so much!

Yes we filed the AR-11 for both my husband and myself (as sponsor) as soon as we knew what our address was going to be in CA. We also called USCIS to make sure they had the change. The only thing that sucked was we ended up getting an RFE for a vaccination supplement and they mailed it to the old address so we didnt get it for like a month later so we lost some time there. By the time we were scheduled for an interview everything was straightened out and we had the interview in Fresno but there were definitely a couple of months of craziness and inconvenience. I am not sure what we could have done differently other than not move, because I filed all the forms and made all the calls I could think of to do.

oh well. alls well that ends well, right ;)

good luck to you !
