Hi, I was DQ'd today on 14th Dec 2020. Spouse is a US citizen. Any idea of when I will get the interview letter for the Embassy in London?

Right now, it is taking about 5 months from DQ date until the interview appointment, give or take a couple of weeks. So that would mean an interview in May (probably between the 1st and the 14th?) notified to you around the second week of April (again, notifications have varied between the 7th or the month before to the 13th of the month before. December batch will be even later since today is the 14th and they haven't been released yet). Keep an eye on the UK forum over the next couple of days to see if things are speeding up at all - people will be posting their DQ and interview dates so you can keep checking that each month as your turn gets closer.

Saying that, a lot could happen between now and May - they could clear the backlog, which might enable an April interview with a March notification, or they could reintroduce other visa types that they currently aren't processing, increasing the wait time - it is hard to say.

If you have any good reason for an expedite (health, financial etc) that could speed things up but the London embassy seem sticklers for the rules when it comes to expedites, compared to embassies in some other countries at least.

Thank you! Looks like we’ll have to wait. It may be a good thing to be honest as I’m waiting for the job market to improve there after Covid.

Haha, not a bad decision - I finally got to NYC a few weeks ago and my job hunt has been completely fruitless so far :(

I’m sure you’ll find something soon once the vaccine is rolled out.
Have you sorted health insurance, mobile phone contract, bank account, credit card etc? If so, any tips would be great.
