Finance/Affidavit of support question

Hey all,

I have my GC interview in NYC coming up. I was wondering if, (as I am now working) I need to bring an updated affidavit of support?

Also is it recommended to bring all bank joint statements from every month or just the latest ones?

Many thanks for your help!

Has your work and income changed since the first affidavit you submitted?  If so, then yes I would bring an updated one because if they ask where you work and your response is different from the original affidavit they may ask for an updated one.  But the other problem is have you worked there long enough to get the required 6 months of paystubs?  If not you may want to get other proof of your income to go with whatever paystubs you do have (such as an employment verification letter).

I went with quality over quantity for evidence, but it doesn’t hurt to be cautious since you can never know the personality of the person you’ll be dealing with.  Just make sure that you organize it well if it’s a lot.  Personally, I brought the 3 most recent statements from my bank accounts and the first statement after my spouse was added (to show they had been on it 1+ year as well as show the deposits had been ongoing).
