Info-pass App

On a good note, I received my EAD work card in the mail today, which made me very happy.

On a bad note, I got an RFE yesterday for my medical papers on my AOS. Not happy at all, coz they are supposed to have it all.

So I made an info pass app for tomorrow, to go and see what they can tell me, and If I can just resend them my medical that I got with my K1 and the I-693 Supplemental form. I'm hoping so. If I have to go for another medical the closest CS is 2 hours away.

This info pass is 2,5 hours away in downtown NYC. But I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm hoping that the person I see for my app tom is alot more helpful than the guy I spoke to on the 1-800 hotline, coz he sucked!!!!

I hope they can help you when you go for your infopass appointment! Maybe your medical was just misplaced....Good luck

I have read that others in your same situation (USCIS can't find the medical from your K1) contact their congressperson to inquire about this and that USCIS "found" the medical in the applicant's "other file" (I think a previous poster referred to it as a "temporary file"). Try doing a search because I remember reading this recently within the past month.

Good luck, but don't get your hopes up. The people at the District Office in NYC do not have the case file and may not be able to get any clarifying information from the case officer at Service Center who has the file even if they are willing to try to contact the SC to ask.

Talk to the most important people you can(congressman, infopass), let them know how incredibly INSANE it is that THEY lost your medical, and expect you to pay for another one because of their mistake, and hope and pray they magically find your file!

Well, I went to my info pass app, and the lady was really helpful in trying to locate my medical forms. She gave me some phone numbers for JFK, the officers that checked me in when I arrived and what not. So we left there, and I called them but that is where it ends.

They don't have anything, they say they forwarded it on and well.... It's lost.

I have now made an appointment for another medical for next thursday. To my own cost, even though they are the ones that lost them.

In the mean time, I am getting my medical results faxed over from SA where I had the first one done and hopefully I can take them on Thursday and at least show that I've had it all done, and won't have to do all the tests again.

Can only try I guess.

But right now, my blood is still boiling. I couldn't get into the USA on my K-1 visa without having had my medical done. So it's kinda obvious that it isn't my fault!!!!!

I'm gonna try and get ahold of my congressman before Thursday and hopefully see what he can do, if anything.
