Hi VJ members, I naturalized American on November 20, my youngest daughter will turn 18 on December 24th, about a month since naturalization, they said if one of the parents naturalized American before his child turns 18, the child automatically acquires citizenship. Does this apply on my daughter?

Hi,

Does your daughter have a green card and lives with you?

Yes she has a green card and lives with me , my son also has a green card and live with me but he is 20 years old, so he has to submit form N-400

If you take the oath to become a US citizen before your daughter turns 18, then she is automatically a US citizen as she has a green card and lives with you.  Use your naturalization certificate to apply for her US passport.  The US passport will be evidence that she's a US citizen.  Congratulations!

Your son will have to apply for naturalization on his own.
