Hello,

When we applied for my mom's visa extension I was living in another state. We did change the address online but they still scheduled the appointment near my old address.

In the past I just appeared at another office before the date on my notice but I believe this is not possible now due to Covid?! I tried calling USCIS and sent a message but did not get a response.

Does anyone have any recent experience? Is the only option is to reschedule? My mom is returning in the middle of December so I am worried they reschedule after she leave the country.

Thank you

We ended up sending the notice back to USCIS requesting for them to reschedule and took several months for them to reschedule.By then we ended up cancelling the request to extend her visa and applied for her green card instead.

If I were to go through this again I would probably pay a visit to the local office instead and explain to them the situation. I heard some people were able to do a walk-in depending on the situation. Here in Seattle it appears they are turning everyone away but I would still give it a try because it is very time consuming to get it reschedule. Let me know if you have any questions.
