I have just submitted my forms for AOS..........but I have a good friend that is trying to complete his package and get it in soon. He just received the I-163-A back from the Civil Surgeon and says that his K-1 wife is good to go .........but the K-2 daughter needs some more vaccinations to be complete.

The question is: Should he go ahead and submit for AOS with the K-2 as is, needing more vaccinations, or wait and get the vaccinations and paperwork completed for the I-163 A before submitting the forms? i.e. include the incomplete I-163-A for the K-2 with the rest of the documents or wait and get vaccinations and send in completed and correct with documents.

What are the implications either way?

I think that technically the I-163-A is not required, but only needed at interview time...........but have head about many people getting RFE's for not including with package.

Chuck D,

I would submit the AOS with the DS-3025 forms, and get the girl the vaccinations she needs so as to have the I-693 vaccination supplement ready when and if asked for.

How old is the K2? School age? There are more vaccinations required for school than for immigration. My stepson had to have some of his vaccinations repeated because he'd had them at 9 months of age, which was fine for immigration, but the school district required that they be given after the age of 1 year.

The K-2 daughter is 10 years old. Just had the Medical Exam and vaccinations in Guangzhou, China just before the interview last Dec. She should have gotten everything up to date then unless she needs a booster of some type now. I have a K-2 daughter who is 16 and they gave her everything she needed.......but that was only back in March............but maybe the age has something to do with it.

I just don't want to give my friend incorrect advice and get him an RFE.

What is a DS-3025 anyway? Physical Exam Documents? I never saw them .........unless they were in the sealed brown package that was handed over at the POE to Immigration. Didn't see where the DS-3025 was required in the list of documents for AOS either.

Chuck D,

DS-3025 is one of the visa medical exam documents - the vaccination documentation worksheet.

Better, in my opinion, to submit the AOS application without the vaccination supplement and get an RFE for it than to wait any length of time for the vaccination supplement and delay submitting the application. Better to get in the queue as early as possible. If they have the DS-3025, submit a copy of it with the I-485 and there's a good chance that there will be no RFE. The original is in the case file with the other medical exam forms.

Thanks for the info Yodrak. I just talked with my friend again and he says that its the Hepatitis B series that has not been completed and it takes several months in between vaccinations to complete them. I think I will advise him to go ahead and submit the incomplete I 163 A with an attachment explaining that for obvious reasons the completed documents cannot be included at this time and will be presented at the AOS interview or with an RFE at a later date if needed.

Chuck D,

Avoid diarrhea of the mouth. An explanation is not needed for this. Submit what you have and if they think it's insufficient and they want more they'll ask for it.

i'm currently in bangkok and will be here for a few more weeks. one of the questions i've been trying to find the answer to is; will my fiance need more shots in texas when she applies for aos? my fiance basically had no history of shots and only has the medical exam paper she got for the interview. i've looked and looked, but i have not been able to figure this out.

for her interview; she had her medical exam. the ds-3025 says they gave her a shot for Td, measles, mumps, and rubella. my fiance isn't much help and says she can't remember what they did (the interview was in january).

i'd like to avoid paying texas doctors for shots that i need when i may be able to get them here.

thanks for any thoughts
