I brought a whole box of those individual servings of Nutella with me, and I'm still killing them. But yes, American Nutella is *nasty*. Doesn't taste even close. I love Nutella in my Pfannkuchen (not pancakes).

It is really ridiculously expensive!! But definitely worth it!!!

The Nutella I buy at the commisary here is peanut oil free. "Ingredients there are: Sugar, Modified Palm Oil, Hazelnuts, Cocoa, Skim Milk, Reduced Minerals Whey (From Milk), Soy Lecithin: An Emulsifier, Vanilin: An Artificial Flavor". I don't know about the Modified Palm Oil, but it tastes just like the Nutella in Germany. I don't miss a lot of things but every now and then I get me some fish or Gewuerzgurken or just some Bahlsen Cookies.

On my Nutella Glass it says "over 50 Hazelnuts per jar"...

Hello,

I just wanted to add one little information to Evi's post. I have that particular Nutella, too. It is made in Canada and not the US.

I have bought the peanut nutella before and did not like it either. Then, somebody in the family had the Canadian one and I loved it. Then I noticed that the ingredients were different. At the same grocery store, where I bought the peanut nutella they sell now the hazelnut one.

So, Anna, maybe a supermarket in SF changes their supplier and then they get the good nutella. Good luck.

Have a good weekend.

oohh, I am going to the grocery store right now....well, after work anyways! You got the stupid idea to put peanuts in Nutella in the first place?

Hazelnuts are not very popular here anyways, are they? I wanted to bake an Apfelstrudel and couldn't get gemahlene Haselnuesse. What's up with that??

No, hazelnuts aren't very popular here. Whenever my daughter has Nutella sandwiches for school the kids all look at her like she's an idiot. They just have no taste :)

I think I'll be crazy to have another one, but I don't care. I bring 2 children to my new marriage, a 16 year old (which I don't understand b/c I'm still, like....25! :) ) and an 8 year old. All my friends think I am crazy to want another one too. But what will happen will happen, eh?

And darn you Nutella people! Now I've been to three different grocery stores reading the ingredients ;) I still need to check out World Market.

I checked out our World Market here in St. Paul, but couldn't find the hazelnut Nutella there :crying:

They have lots of good stuff from Germany though, Meica Wuerstchen and Schokolade and lots of different Haribo Candy. Yummi!

I brought baking mixes from Germany too. One was made with buttermilk and it overflew and spilled all over my bread baking machine. The smell was horrible! I had a hard time getting it all out, it burnt on the heaters and the machine still stinks. The next lot I'll bake in the oven, better to keep an eye on it...

The Aldi stuff never did that to me. So be careful if the dough it very runny it's trouble!

I have got to get my phone book out and see if we have a world market. I think there is a Euromart somewhere around here that has Ü-Eier. I will check that one out for certain!

Here ya go: http://www.worldmarket.com/custserv/store_locator.cmd

The closest one is in Wichita, though. I have no idea how close that is to Tulsa.

Makes me feel kinda bad since there are 10 near me within 20 miles :)

Wichita is a little far away. :(

But I got an Ü-Ei at the Euromart. Everything else seemed to be mainly from Russia and Poland...

A little advice: if your neighbor is blasting his bad 80s country music AGAIN...try blasting a little "Alles Aus Liebe" (a la DTH) out your window. Within seconds he will have the music turned off.
