Adding a joint sponsor after NVC accepts case in CEAC

Hi everyone, 

 

Me (UK citizen) and my wife (US citizen) are applying for my US spouse visa.

Our case was marked as "Accepted" in CEAC but we received a "Case FE review note":

[Wife] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case... To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted.

We have now added my father-in-law as our joint sponsor. This request was approved and is now "Incomplete" until we upload his tax returns and proof of domicile.

Our questions are:

1) Is our application now on "pause" until we upload the required documents, or can our case still be forwarded to the embassy in its current state?

2) Assuming our case cannot be forwarded to the embassy until we upload the joint sponsor documents, how long will it take for the NVC to review them once they are uploaded? Will we simply join the same queue as everybody else, or a different queue for those who have already had their full case reviewed and accepted?

We appreciate that the NVC Timeframes have a "current case review time" but do not know whether this applies to us, or how quickly it is moving along each week. If anyone has insight on how NVC "reviewing documents for cases not subject to the travel restrictions first" translates into waiting times, that would be wonderful.
