I agree, there is no mandatory quarantine if you stay in Manila after you are cleared. The issue comes if you leave and go to another province. Albay has issued a mandatory 2 week quarantine if you come from another province. Since the exact rules are unclear, this may not apply if you have already been cleared from Manila and are just coming unchecked from another province.

I think a big question that would need to be answered is what happens if your COVID test comes back positive, then what.  Do you stay in the same hotel for 2 more weeks or what was going on in April/May where they were taking people to the hospital or government health facility, even if you had no symptoms.  The PCR test can still produce false positives and I would be concerned that instead of re-testing you again after a couple days (which is what many places would do) they just assume the first test is correct and let you wait it out 2 weeks when in fact you could be negative.

Ill hold out from booking a ticket until I can get more answers on that as well as the ability to travel between provinces.  Sometimes common sense doesnt factor into the decisions there and I would hate to see myself stuck in a room for 2-3 weeks for no reason.

Also, security needs to be taken into more of an account now.  Through an International SOS alert I have received, during May/June when lockdowns were eased, crime increased about 15% year over year for the same period.  I would imagine that once people can move freely again, this will significantly increase.  The economic situation is dire and with typhoon season just starting up, any serious typhoon such as Yolanda etc, will really hit the country hard.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."
