Do we need to fill the N445 in front of the USCIS officer and on the day of the Oath Ceremony?

Hello,

No, you are not required to, and should not, wait to fill the form out in front of an officer. The questionnaire should be filled out and signed on the day of your oath ceremony  sometime before going inside the USCIS location.

Form N-445 states,

"You MUST bring the completed questionnaire on Page 3 with you to the Naturalization Oath Ceremony..."

My husband had his naturalization ceremony on June 10; he filled the questionnaire out and signed it before he went into the USCIS building for his ceremony.

Congrats on your upcoming ceremony!

Oh thank you for the greetings. It is for my spouse and may be we are starting thinking too much into it. If it were to be normal ceremony, we could have done it in front of the officer as there is not really a push or rush.

But now, we were caught up thinking of not taking up too much time during these abbreviated ceremonies while filling the forms or be told by the officer that the form should be filled in their presence if we already brought it filled up....

No you're fine... I over-think everything!

The ceremonies right now are very, very short so they don't want anything delaying them. They want the form to be already filled out and signed. Bring it filled in and signed and dated for the ceremony date and don't worry about it.

You did the right thing by asking. :) It's an important event!

Just make sure to use the date of the ceremony and use the city where your ceremony is held.

Almost all people in line had to change the city from there home town to the city of the office.
