My interview cancelled

So I was never scheduled for an interview but my case has been ready to be scheduled for an interview since March 9th, 2020. This morning, I got an email saying my case status: Testing and Interview.

Did any of the K1 filers experience this? Did anyone get their green card in the mail without going for an interview? Part of the email said, “Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility.”

There are a handful of people who have reported that their AOS interview was waived during the COVID-19 office shutdowns. This has primarily been AOS from K-1 status.

 

In the past, there was a general interview waiver available for some K-1 applicants. This was stopped ~2 years ago, but it appears that some people are getting them again now.

This does not mean your case will or won't have one. Keep checking for case updates.

Very informative reply. Thanks much & I’m hoping I won’t have to go through the whole gathering of documents for an interview again.
