Hi - I've been filing tax return for the past 10 years using my SSN and wife's ITIN even though wife has valid SSN. I only realized that I should be using her SSN when this Stimulus Bill came. Do you think I would still be able to get the stimulus 2,400 plus 500 for my daughter this YEAR if I file for amendment of my 2019 Tax Return now?

You likely won’t get the advance rebate this year. They won’t get to an amendment now before scheduling things to go out. But if you file 2020 taxes with an SSN, you should be able to claim the credit at that time. So it’s a matter of when, not if.

 

You also should get the ITIN situation resolved to make sure she gets proper credit for all times worked.
