Hey guys. I'm an international student on F1 visa heading into my last year of studies in USA. I'm currently in the green card application process through marriage. I got my EAD already and i'm basically waiting for my interview. Am i supposed to inform my school that i got my EAD or do i remain on F1 visa next year? What exactly changes now that i have my EAD and probably will get my PR in the near future?

Your F-1 status and your pending AOS are separate issues.

Having an EAD doesn't change anything. Actually using it would terminate your F-1 status (leaving you with authorized stay from the pending AOS).

If you haven't used the EAD to work then it's your choice. Are you currently paying international student tuition rate? In some states you might qualify for in-state tuition based on your spouse's residency in that state.

I won't be using my EAD until 2021 when school is finished. No financial incentive for me. Just trying to do everything the right way :)

Thank you. I won't actually be using my EAD until the end of next year. I'll keep both in case for some odd reason my AOS gets rejected and i'm left visa-less.
