Hi....Im new to VJ and have been impressed by the information shared and positive lights. Anyways, I just sent off our K1 application package this week and am starting to investigate and collect information for our interview process. In dealing with the I134, has anyone ever been asked by the US Embassy in Cairo for their tax returns or transcripts and if so, how many years did they ask for? Can any one tell me any other helpful hints they used or found worked in the Cairo Embassy??

You are going to need your most recent tax return. That is what is requested. Whether theyy look at it or not is the Consulate's option. Your job is to make it available! If you have 3 years, send them to the beneficiary, just in case the CO asks to see them. IRS Transcripts or copies of your personal returns are both OK at the interview.

Thank you for verifying this. Do I need W2s as well or just the transcripts?

The I-134 does not request any tax returns at all, (unless you are self employed). If the Egyptian consulate does not request any tax returns in your packet 3, I can't see why you'd be worried about it.

I never provided any tax returns, and was never asked for any, until the AOS stage.

Personally, I would not give them any information they don't ask for.

Thank You Bill. That was my thought. Just to SEND what it asks for but have my SO prepared with the documents in case they ASK for it.
