SSN

Well I already got my GC a couple of months ago, and I finally got the motivation to go to the SS office and get an SSN. And, obviously, they couldnt find me in their database. How does that even happen? It's not like i just came here, I've lived here for like a year already. How could they not have me in their system.

SSA screws up a LOT. Might also be USCIS not putting you in a database SSA can get into.

Happened to us. I had to have SSA call USCIS local office.

Wasn't easy as they normally don't communicate with each other.

I had to give SSA the USCIS phone number and USCIS the SSA phone number as neither knew how to contact eah other!!!

They finally got it squared away after playing "phone tag" with each other for a couple days.

i dont see what was the point of moving this — it doesn't fit in this forum either, as i already have my green card.
