Hello VJ

I recently had my F1 interview and was approved in Lagos Nigeria . While at the consulate. I dropped my daughters birth certificate and the officer asked if she was accompanying me, I told him not now but later in the future so he told me he would add her as a follow to join. Fasforward to this morning, out of boredom I decide to check NVC to see if anything had changed and to my biggest surprise I saw her name under mine with a status drop down beside it that says follow to join or accompany. I decided to Google "follow to join" and I saw it was a way for family preference to bring in their spouse or child to the US. Anyways my question is how do I go about this process, when can I bring her in and what is the wait period?
