Parents Visa

Hi All,

I am nearly done with my process ( Consular - Green card).

I have got parents who I wish to me visiting me every now & then. In order that they dont really get bored sitting alone overseas.

While I was here in Australia, they have got a multiple visit visa with a restriction that they can stay more than 3 months consecutively. In order to maintain visa, they use to exit Australia for a month or 2 as they  are managing properties overseas & returns back after a short while.

Does US also provide any certain visa? I was reading a thread where it said they only allow parents for 1 month only ?

They apply for a tourist visa based on their own merit.

Certainly, they will. is it true that they will be only allowed for a month stay ? & each time they have to reapply.

I highly doubt if US grants a month visa. Normally all countries grant for a minimum of 3 - 6 months.

Typically the visa stay  length is determined at the POE which can be shorter than the stay time one the visa.   The typical stay issue is up to 180 days.  The validity can be up to 10 years.

I have seen a B1 issued for a week.

People have had visa stays issued for 6 months and allowed shorted times at the POE.

This will not be allowed on a US B visa.  B visa is strictly for visiting, not trying to live in the US.

They can apply and interview in their home country.  There is no sponsorship or invitation process for tourist visas.  They will be approved or denied based on their ties to their home country, and if they have been visiting you abroad that much, they may struggle to show those ties.
