Hello everyone, I need some of your advice or opinion regarding my case.

I recently got my green card in 10/31/19. Then my family and I took a vacation in the Philippines. As we are traveling back to the US, our trip has a stop over at the Hongkong airport. As we are waiting to board our plane back to the US, I was stopped by the airport officers and was brought to the Hongkong police station to be detained because of possession of an Extendable Baton in my checked in baggage. I did not know  that such a weapon is illegal there. I was only a transit passenger so I did not bother to check. I was only trying to bring the baton here in Arizona for the use of self defense. To cut the story short, I was detained for 12 hours, attended the court the next day, plead guilty, and was fined for 2,000 Hongkong dollars or 250 USD.

My question is, will that affect my application of Removal of Condition on my green card after 2 years?  (There is a question in the i751 if you have been fined for an offence in or out of the US)

Can that conviction get me deported?

Please share your thought, negative or positve is welcome! Thank you in advance!

Not sure about it getting you deported but being that it happened in China you better start working on getting the documents you need from them NOW that shows the disposition of the case, if you have not already gotten them.  USCIS is at a minimum going to want to see ALL documentation of your case. I am assuming trying to get things of this nature out of China will be like pulling teeth especially if you let time go by.

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!
