Unfortunately, the fact that Kennedy hasn't yet succumbed to cirrhosis makes it a guarantee this bill will show up again.

You never know. Maybe he'll have a fling with Paris Hilton and succumb to a scorchin' case of herpes! ;)

Yes, I know, I remember him saying it. I just think it would be extremely appropriate, and wonderfully ironic, if someone would say that to Teddy Kennedy

I bet someone probably already has.

I think Ted Kennedy is well aware that he's no Jack Kennedy; some people say that the pressure put on him to carry the banner for the Kennedy family's political legacy after JFK and RFK were killed was too much for him and contributed greatly to his drinking problem. I dunno if I agree with that or not.

I believe it was hid drinking problem that contributed to his drinking problem.

This lying sack of politician. Here's one of my Senators responding to my letter just yesterday saying that, and I quote, "While it's still very uncertain what the final details of the measure will look like, I'm opposed to amnesty,..." and this "Please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind during the Senate's debate on immigration reform." and then he turns around and votes to end debate to ram this piece of ####### amnesty legislation through the Senate. He better not be asking for my vote whenever he does come up for re-election. Not a chance.
hmmm I just got a replica email  nelson?

... but then again, I and not anti-amnesty per se. I just don't want families to get screwed trying to fix it.

Yep, sure is Nelson. Whether or not you're pro amnesty is not the issue. He stated to me that he is opposed to it and then he is part of the crowd that has nothing better to do than try to ram this amnesty bill through the Senate. He's lying to his constituency. Whether you support him on this particular bill or not, seeing how untruthful he is, you should be just as concerned with him being your Senator. Unless honesty is something that you can do without as far as your DC reprensentation is concerned.

Don't let him get away with it! Contact your local newspaper / TV / radio station and send them a copy of his letter and voting record to prove that he's a lying piece of #######.
excellent idea

I'll give that a shot. The odds of this making it's way into the paper are fairly low, though, seeing that people here practically fall over themselves to please the illegal crowd and it's enablers and supporters.

they can put all this illigal immigration ####### on the shelf next to my husband aos file. it for sure wont get touched for 2 years.

I was going to say LOL but it really isn't funny. Maybe they ought to put the bill on AR with the Consulate staff in Islamabad. That would ensure that it'll be gone for good.

True--his drinking problem probably started around the end of prohibition (Joseph Kennedy's fortune was made by bootlegging).

nope you're right. It was a little shocking to get that email worded the way it was. My subsequent statement was ill-placed - more about the bill itself. I AM breathing a sigh of relief that this is dumped, however we still have a big fat NOTHING done about it all.
