RFE - Marriage Termination not Registered

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I received a RFE stating that the divorce decree between me and my ex-wife does not show evidence of being civilly filed of recorded. The letter states to "submit evidence that the divorce decree is final and was recorded with the appropriate court registrar".

I included an official copy of the dissolution of marriage certificate signed by the judge after my divorce, but is there something else I should submit?  Thank you again for your help!

It could be that you submitted a copy of the divorce certificate (typically a single-page document recorded at the state/county department of vital statistics, along with other such documents, i.e: marriage and birth certificates), rather than the full decree absolute.  I suggest you respond with a certified copy of the full decree.

Thank you for the quick response! I did not send them the full decree, so it makes sense they are requesting it.

You may not need to send in the full decree. Please look at the Florida Dept of Health site link. If you can, depending on your situation, a copy of their report will usually suffice.

I used successfully used a similar report from Colorado state when I was sending in my divorce records.
