Withdrawing AOS from the U.S and starting a new application here in Egypt.

My wife and I got married in the U.S and we started the AOS there, we had the interview which went very well, but then she had to travel with our daughter back to Egypt because her mother was dying. Her advance parole expired while she was there. Unfortunately, despite the interview going very well ( same ethnicity, age, education and a daughter) and the officer saying she would approve us, we got called in for a second interview. However she is not in the country and has no way of getting back in. We asked for a rescheduling . She had applied for an advance parole renewal before she traveled but we haven't gotten it yet . If the interview gets rescheduled before she gets her advance parole, I don't think they will accept another rescheduling and she will likely be denied. With the new trump administration everything is exceedingly slow. We applied in December 2016 and this uncertain situation has really taken a toll on her, it's a huge inconvenience.

I see that applying for a IR-1 visa takes less time than what we have been going through. And it maybe less stressful?

When you apply from Egypt do you use a U.S lawyer or an Egyptian one. Has anyone been through something similar? Please advise...

You are not required to use a lawyer for either the process you are in or an IR1 visa.  If you have a lawyer now, hopefully he is pressing USCIS for an expedited approval of your wife's advance parole.  You can also seek assistance from a local politician.  I recommend contacting your State's Senior US Senator's office most local to you.  The best solution is to get that advance parole so she can attend the interview.

If you decide to withdraw the AOS, you'll still need an approved I-130.  Worst case is you go to the interview alone and get done whatever you can at that time.
