hi guys,

somebody told me that there are new fees for I-751. my GC will be over on feb 22, 2008. my question is can i file it early to beat the new price they are implementing even if my expiration will be next year? and how much it will cost?

The new I-751 filing fees will be $545 (filing + biometrics) and $80 biometrics for each additional dependent on the application.

If I understand correctly, the fees are due when the application is submitted and the application can ONLY be submitted 90 days prior to the expiration of the conditional green card.

So there is no way to avoid the fee increase, I'm afraid.

01/06/2009: NOA (arrived 01/09/09)

01/23/2009: Biometrics appt letter received

01/31/2009: Biometrics scheduled

06/23/2009: 10 Year Green Card arrived

That's right. You gotta file when it's your turn not when the fees are more to your liking.

The fee hike sucks big time, though.

You can petition during the 90-day period during which you are allowed to petition. The I-751 form tells you when that is.

Nope, sorry but you can only file 90 DAYS before your GC expires... You will have to pay the higher fee next year.
