London embassy Interview section 221g request for additional evidence

Had my interview at the London embassy this morning for a CR1 visa, was very smooth getting in through security. Checked in with my passport and interview letter, went upstairs and was called straight to the first window where he asked for a passport photo, marriage certificate, birth certificate and police certificate had a friendly chat and I sat back down. Waited around 90 mins for the second window, had another friendly chat simple questions about where we met, what she did for work, and where we got married. She then told me everything was fine but my wife needed to upload her 2018 tax transcript on CEAC and email them directly with a copy letting them know it had been uploaded (i did have her 1040 and w2 bit for some reason they wanted this too). They kept my passport which I think is a good sign and I have come straight home, my wife has got her tax transcript and we have uploaded it already. Does anyone know how long this process might take?

They may not get back to it today because of continuing new interviews coming in everyday to keep up with. But within a couple of days they will find time to go back and pick cases from their "to do" list. Once they get back to you, the average time to have the visa in hand is one week. Spouse visas sometimes are faster than K1s. Watch your CEAC status and it will say "issued" when printed after flip flopping from various things like "Ready" or "AP".  Once issued, it gets passed on to the courier to package for delivery and notify you. Delivery is maybe two days after "Issued". It varies some, so those are general time frames.

Question: Did you have all the pages of the tax return which would include more than the one form 1040? Like maybe 1040, Schedule 1, Schedule B, Schedule D (depending of course on her specific return).

@Wuozopo Do you know if I'll get an email when they have looked at the submitted document or do I just keep an eye on the CEAC status?

Thanks

You won't hear from anybody until you get the notification that your visa is being delivered. Note the date on CEAC. It changes and might indicate somebody accessed you case to work on it. It may go from AP to Ready or back to AP.  Not really a standard pattern. But status of Issued means it's a done deal.
