Affidavit of Support question

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend what the embassy is looking for in the answer to question 38.

To paraphrase, it asks;

I do, or do not, intend to make specific contribution to support the person(s) in Part 2.

(If intend, indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions you intend to make. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount and if it will be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthly and for how long.)

The person(s) listed in Part 2 is the beneficiary, beneficiary's spouse and beneficiary's children. In my case the beneficiary is my fiancee and the others do not apply.

I assume I still answer "intend" to support, but is the embassy actually looking for a dollar amount given, weekly or monthly, and for how long...?

Thanks for any recommendations that may have worked for others!

From looking at your timeline, I can’t see what visa you’re going for - assume K1, as you’ve said fiancé.

If so, I’d tick ‘do not intend’ - and then handwrite ‘N/A - K1 visa’ next to it (this is exactly what we did recently, and our affidavit was accepted) - the key part of the phrase is ‘SPECIFIC’ contribution, ie, limited to - your contributions/support as a future husband aren’t limited or specific.

Thanks Zoeeeeeeee!

Yes we're applying for the K1 - I'll update my timeline right now.

Appreciate the help!
