Thanks for the help so far in prepping this K1. Some rocks getting it started but, I got the announcement it was approved on the 15th of last month and then was on it's way to the NVC. Do I need to contact them on the 15th to get an update or just wait for the NVC to do it's thing?

I've done some work prepping the i-134s. One hiccup right now is dealing with a tax return that was filed wrong by my preparer. Not a major issue but, definitely annoying since I'll need to include one with the 134 given I'm self employed right now. I've heard there is a time table when she'll need to get the interview appointment going. If I don't get the form amended, do I send prior years forms and explain that the IRS is processing the correction? Another thing, since I'm basically a business owner of an LLC and self employed to it, would a statement explaining the nature of what I do, written by me, help? I've family members that basically support me outside of this since I'm mostly a caregiver for them. Two in their 90s needing driving about kind of limits other jobs I could take on the side. They have met my fiancee and completely are on board for supporting us both till she gets work here.

Going through my checklist, I can pretty much send my fiancee digital copies of everything I need to prep for her embassy visit in Jakarta. However, will they accept them or do they want them physically signed by me? Also, I have done a trip to visit her while NOA1 was under way. Needed to visit the rest of her family and do the Chinese engagement before getting married when she comes here. Should I prepare a evidence packet for her to take that showcases that trip?

If you have not received a letter from NVC yet you can email or call to get your case file #

E-mail: NVCInquiry@state.gov

Subject line:  USCIS Receipt number from your I-797 Notice of Action (NOA)

Body of email:   "Requesting case file number"   (plus include below required information)

REQUIRED SECURITY INFORMATION:
(You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response):

* USCIS Receipt Number from your NOA-2  (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).
* Petitioner's name and date of birth.
* Beneficiary's name and date of birth.

If you want to call NVC, this is the process (but there is little benefit to calling as you need the NVC email/letter to start the medical at St. Luke's)

K-1 are processed like an immigrant visa, but are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own.

K-1 visa:  1-603-334-0888 Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Eastern Time) .

What to Prepare Before Calling:

You will need the following information before you call:
– Name and date of birth of the beneficiary
– Name and date of birth of the petitioner
– Receipt number from your NOA-2
