DS-160 / Medical before letter received

Hello everyone,

our case was forwarded to the local embassy and it seems like they received it yesterday (sent out 20/08 - last updated says 27/08, so we guess they received it).
However, we didn't get the letter yet, but would like to schedule a appointment for the medical, especially because it's valid for up to 6 months!

The problem is the following: "In addition to your travel document and appointment confirmation you must now also bring a print out of your CEAC (DS-260/DS-160) confirmation page with you to the medical examination!"

Can we submit and fill out the DS-160 before we got the letter from the embassy? How long does it usually take to get the DS-160 approved?

We are very thankful for every response we can get.

Best regards

Savannah & David

Don't complete your medical too early. The visa expiration date is based on when you do the medical. If you do the medical 5 months before visa is issued, you will only have a month to enter the US. Most people do medical 2 weeks before interview. Just don't cut yourself short on visa expiration.
