Administrative Processing 221G

Hi everyone,

Im extremely upset right now 😞

I’m the petitioner (US  citizen). My husband had his interview and was asked many questions about my first marriage. The consular basically gave him back everything and hands him a paper 221G and put him under administrative processing. She said she wants pictures of me and my ex and our child. The problem is I only have our wedding pictures because after divorce I shredded every picture with him. I just didn’t feel I needed nor wanted them anymore. Besides in our culture it’s disrespectful to keep pictures of your ex because the new husband wouldn’t like that. So I just thought it’s best to get rid of them.

My questions, has anybody been through this? What is the solution? Do I just hand write a letter to the embassy about what happen with the pictures?is my husband getting another interview?

So so many questions in m head. I’m just really upset but very hopeful that they will understand my situation. Please any advice would much appreciated.

Thank you.

Do you have any photos of your ex and child together (you don't have to be in this photo, but better if you are)?  You didn't shred all photos of your child and their biological father together, too, did you?  Presumably you kept some for your child to have of his/her father...send that and a copy of the wedding photo.

I believe this is the first time I've heard of a CO requesting photos of the ex.

I do have photos of my ex and child together, but my husband said the consular specifically asked for a picture with us three. A picture of me my ex and our child together. Should we just take one together now?

I'm more curious why the CO wanted the photo at all.  Being put in AP is normal, though.

You said he was asked "many questions" about your first marriage---what did the CO seem to focus on, specifically?  Your issues may go deeper than just submitting a photo...

Was your first husband someone you petitioned for a visa as well?
