My wife and I had out packet returned due to messing up the payment. We resubmitted to the same location in Chicago and USPS tracking says it was delivered July 1st. After waiting a month with no update I called the military help line. They submitted an investigation to try and find the packet. I just received a generic email 10 days later stating,

On July 29, 2019, you contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-485 Application to Adjust Status, to confirm receipt of a new application. Our records do not indicate a new form has been filed. We highly suggest to check our website at https://www.uscis.gov/forms to confirm the correct filing address.

I am at a loss as where to go next. Do we really have to go through the trouble of getting all the paperwork together including all the medical docs when for some reason they lost our packet? We called USPS just to confirm and it was delivered to the correct address.

If applicants or their representatives have any specific cases where they believe something was lost by a Lockbox facility, please provide details by email to Lockbox Support at lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov and we will investigate

YMMV
