ESTA question

Hi there.

When I got married to my us citizen partner in the US my marriage certificate asked what my new name would be after marriage so I put my husbands surname.

Back in the UK I have never changed my name in any other way and every document I have is in my maiden name (passport, payslips, driving license, bank statement)

My Esta is due to expire soon and I noticed one of the questions is if you are known by any other alias. I will apply for the esta in my original name as this matches my passport.

Should I include my husbands surname on the other alias question?

Thanks! :)

That is what I did, just to be sure. 👍🏻 Especially because in the US, I am registered with my married name.

In The Netherlands, you keep your maiden name on your passport (unless you request for a very expensive and real name change that might not always be accepted)

I did inform our council that I would like to be addressed with my married name so most of my mail is in that name.

Thank you! I think I will add the other surname just incase!

Have you ever been asked anything further about this? At point of entry for example?

No, absolutely no issues whatsoever. Never have been asked a single question about that and I have visited at least 6 times since we got married.
