Hi all,

Applying for IR-1 visa through Embassy London.

As well as my USC wife as sponsor, my USC sister-in-law is a joint sponsor and will be providing an I-864.

She is visiting the UK on vacation in August but my interview for IR-1 won't be until December. I was hoping to get her to wet ink sign the I-864 when she visits in August rather than sending later in post.

Will this be acceptable? My understanding is the I-864 is valid forever, providing that the details on there (including but not limited to salary, address etc) remain correct - is this right?

What if a new I-864 form is issued by Government? Presume I'd need her to provide me with a new I-864 using the most up to date form?

Many thanks

Assuming nothing changes from now until then, that's fine.  i-864's actually don't need wet ink signatures, a photocopy of a signed form is acceptable.
