Has your I-130 been approved ?

Hi HopeHopeHope,

I only received Form I-797C, and it states that my Petition for Alien Relative has been received by their office and is in process.

Should I be receiving  another letter stating it's approved, or this is it?

Thanks!

You have to wait for the I-130 to be approved first. The I-797C is just a receipt letting you know that your application has been received. It also lets you know which service center your application is at, depending on that, you can look at the processing times and figure out when you can expect your application approval.

Thank you very much for this info, so the visa bulletin board won't apply yet to my case? I have to wait for the approval letter first?

Do you know how long it takes for I-130 to be approved after filing it? Just an estimate! Thanks!

Depends on your service center. Which service center are you at ? You can find the service center from your I-797C. Then use this link to find out

 https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Yes, as of now the visa bulletin does not apply as much to us ( I am also in the same situation )

Very useful sir! Mine is in California, so the processing time stated here is the processing time just for the approval of our I-130?

Then after that we can use the bulletin.

If it is in California, then as per your PD April 2018,  you can expect your I-130 to be approved anywhere from the next 3 months to later (  I am just making a rough calculation based on information that California has processed up to 15 Jan 2018 )

Can you please give me the link where you saw that info? That California has processed up to Jan 15.

Is your I-130 already approved? Hoping the best for all of us here.

you can find the best and worst case scenarios here. Mine is not approved yet. My Pd is later than yours. Also, is the beneficiary in your case inside the US or outside ? If you are inside the US, the visa bulletin might be relevant to you to adjust status.

I am petitioning for my wife who is outside the US. It says California has the longest processing time. Hoping the best for all of us!
