I have not submitted mine yet but understand it takes long with no guarantees. do you have a lawyer who assisted?

Processing time on line says 14 months max they are up to april 2018 so .... and you know they can take longer.  did you do a K visa or I130 cor another?

We filed in Sept. of 2018 and haven't heard anything yet. Current processing time for an I-601 is 10-13 months, according to the official website: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

My lawyer explains that the way this works is that 50% of cases are completed within the inside timeframe (IE 10 months) and 95% are completed within the outside time frame (13 months).

So you have a 50% chance of getting a response around 10 months after you file. In our case, that's July.

Sure. Apparently there is no intermediate notification. The only step after getting the "application received" notification at the beginning is either approval or an intent to deny/RFE request.
