Tampa Field Office No Longer Taking Walk-ins OR InfoPass Appointments?

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is in the correct forum; I'm really sorry if it's not. Mods, please move it to the correct forum if I made a mistake. Thanks! :)

My wife filed her I-751 back in January and only just got her Receipt Notice today (May 8th). She got an extension stamp in her passport a couple of months ago at the Tampa USCIS office so she could start college since she didn't have her extension letter at that point. The officer took her green card and told her that when she got her extension letter to come back and see him so he could cancel out the stamp on her passport and give her expired green card back to her. However, we tried making an InfoPass appointment today and the Tampa USCIS office is no longer accepting walk-ins or appointments for InfoPass. We aren't sure what to do at this point. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible that this is only temporary and we will be able to make an appointment soon?

Thanks guys!

I think you have to call the USCIS contact center to schedule an appointment:

I was told you can still get appointments but they've changed how you can book it because the system was being misused by people that didn't need appointments. You should be able to get an appointment at Tampa.

Also, from what I remember, it's best to call when they open first thing (8am) and keep pressing option 1 to get through to an actual person, unless they have an option for booking appointments. Took us about half an hour to find that out after repeated attempts to speak to someone, then half an hour on hold to get through to someone.

Thank you. We were able to call and are awaiting a call-back for an InfoPass appointment to get her expired green card.

That's great! I hope it won't take too long.
