Advice on how to update your address online/ RFE

Hello VJ,

I just wanted to share some advice about changing your address. My husband and I recently moved, so we filed AR-11 online for both of us for the pending applications: for him for the I-130 and I-485, I-765, and I-131 under my name.

His change of address was done properly without any issue and we received confirmation at our new home but mine never came. After 30 days I called to inquire and they told me the change was not done and could not do it for me over the phone either, I tried doing it online a second time but it was unsuccessful. I found out later on that the website was having a glitch, other VJ users had that same issue around the same time.

One of the representatives I spoke to, told me a possible reason for my address not being updated, could be that I submitted all 3 receipts under the same form.

I waited a few days and tried again by doing one form per receipt and it worked, I now see the update on my USCIS online case status. I called to double check and they told me they do see our new address.

So moral of the story: even if you have multiple pending applications, submit one AR-11 for EACH receipt.

It will save you the trouble I am going thru right now to get the RFE they sent me after the move, smh.

For the RFE I have to wait 15 days after they sent it, to request another copy. On the 15th day I have to call, speak to a Tier 2 to have them fax it to me.

Why do I have wait this long, when we all know a RFE is time sensitive and the delay on updating my address came from your faulty website?! Anywho they say patience is a golden path. Tuesday come fast please!
