French Fiancee still waiting to receive Interview

Are there any others here dealing with the Embassy/Consulate in France taking a while to send the letter notifying that they are ready for you to schedule your interview? Or if there are many others, not necessarily just in France, who have had to wait a long time? We received the letter from the NVC on March 5th telling us they were transferring our case to the Embassy/Consulate in Paris. It has now been a month and we still have not received word. We were under the impression it would take only a week or two to hear back. We have until June 10th until our case expires, so it may be a bit premature, but we are getting worried, since it is impossible to talk to anyone at the embassy or consulate. They will not even respond to our lawyer. Appreciate any feedback.

Well their website says wait to be notified but I know others who moved forward with the requirements and prior to the interview date scheduled by the applicant they received the "notification" from the embassy. Here is the link to follow for payment instructions Plus other information from them. If it were me I proceed without the notification, but your mileage may vary.  BTW your case is good for one year. The embassy can extend in 4 month increments so that is a mute point.

Thanks. Our lawyer said we will wait 2 more weeks before trying that. Apparently another immigration lawyer she knows who is working with another couple attempted to do that at the embassy in France, and the officer denied the visa and told them to wait for the notification. That was only after 2 or so weeks of waiting though. On CEAC it shows our case as being "Ready" so I would assume that the embassy has it.

Then knowing the case about the other couple would lead me to be cautious and wait. I know of one other embassy "China" that does the same thing. They will cancel any interview appt until you are approved to move forward. But, the difference they require certain documents to be returned before they "flip the switch" allowing the applicant to proceed.

I guess you will just wait until they contact you. Good luck.
