AOS interview scheduled and cancelled on same day??

Hi! We filed for marriage-based AOS from work visa on Sept 14 2018, ready to schedule for interview since Jan 23 2019. Our case is with the Washington DC field office.

Today we received two letters: one with an interview scheduled for May 2, and the other cancelling it. They were both dated the same (March 28).

The letters went to our previous address, which we moved out of 5 days ago. BUT I filed an AR-11 to update our address to our new one (his family's home) in early March to try and give their system plenty of time to register the change. I got the confirmation it was changed but I guess it wasn't enough...

Anyway, I am wondering if the appointment was created, then it was somehow realised the address was wrong and cancelled immediately. But I have no idea.

I am so confused and honestly a bit depressed because I've read that rescheduling can take months.

Has anything similar happened to anyone?

This has been reported numerous times over the years. Likely a glitch of some sort. I would call USCIS and (1) verify there is no interview scheduled and (2) that your address change was processed.

Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find any of those posts! I'll call first thing tomorrow.
