I am going through a very unpleasant process with the Consulate in Paris.

I returned my packet 3 on Monday. Yesterday (Thursday) they sent to me a second packet 3 with the same documents. This time they added something called "Notification of applicant readiness". The document list was also a bit different from the one I had in the first packet 3. The second one had "December 2005" written at the bottom of the sheets.

Why do they send me the packet 3 twice? This morning I went to the Consulate to ask for some explanation. I got none. And no one seemed to care. They gave me a phone number. I called and the person was unable to answer the question.

At the Consulate they were even unable to tell me if I should send the second packet 3 to 18 avenue Gabriel or to 2 rue St Florentin.

People in Paris, everyone anyone please help me!!!!!!!

1) Why did I get two packet 3?

2) Did anyone had this "Notification of applicant readiness" in his/her packet 3?

3) Did anyone had a document list with "December 2005" at the bottm of the sheets?

4) Where on earth must I return the packet 3?

I don't wanna go back to the Consulate again. It's too frustrating.....

Check the France embassy site when you have questions. The link is below.

http://france.usembassy.gov/consul/NIV.HTM

All correspondance should be sent to

18, avenue Gabriel

75008 Paris

For CHRONOPOST, FEDEX OU DHL

I am just beginning the process and can not answer your other questions. I have had bad experiences with the Paris embassy, when we tried unsuccessfully to obtain a tourist visa. The phone numbers they give cost money to call and ask a simple question. Bon Chance!

Also, if you want to get answer to your question in person:

The Immigrant Visa (IV) unit of the U.S. Embassy in Paris will receive in-person general inquiries and requests for information on Fridays ONLY starting at 12:00 pm. Please note that admissions end at 12:00 p.m. so interested parties should arrive well before that hour to ensure they will be admitted. We request that you appear in person, as we are unable to respond to phone, e-mail, or letter inquiries.

The Immigrant Visa Unit is located at:

U.S. Embassy-Consular Section

Hôtel Talleyrand

2 rue Saint Florentin

Notification of applicant readiness

Isn't that the form that lets them know that you are ready for interiew? If you are ready...send it.
