K1- nvc wait timeline

Hi! I got a mail from the nvc that the approved I-129f was received and that will now be forwarded to the US embassy or consulate Lagos. It says the transfer process could take weeks. Does anyone know what the time line is for the several weeks wait and also what could I possibly do right now in the course of the wait. ( maybe pay for the visa fee or something) I need help please

i was told you can call and check on the progress after 30 days. For us it didn't take 30 days to hear from the Embassy. It doesn't take that long but they always say it could take a long time.

All I would recommend is practicing for the interview,  and make sure you are prepared. Do you already have the police clearence needed? If not you can get that done now. Hope this helps

Ours was being transferred to Accra. It said weeks but got their 2 days later by the grace of Almighty God!

@Anna1988 and @kmmthw2014 thank you for responding. I did my police report a little too early on the 16th of April 2018. I don't know if it would be valid by the time I'm scheduled for an interview. The police report says it's valid for 3months. I don't know if that would be a problem too.

we had to do police more than one clearance because of this too.  If it says its only good for a few months, if I were you I would do it again, because they will want it when they make your appointment for interview. If you don't have it they will give you a letter giving you time but you don't want that to happen because when you are put in the holding process for any documents to be finished, it could take some time for them to get back to your case. Also if you can get your medical done, but you have to find out what hospitals the embassy uses.

@kmmthw2014 hmmm this is very good advice thank you. I really appreciate this. Yes I know where to have my medicals done. I already called too would be having that done first but that's after I pay my visa fee. Thank you
