Touoch on AOS/485 before interview means name chek done?

Guys,

I have read and observed that some time after the interview notice is sent...but before the actual interview, every1 who has been APPROVED has had a "touch " on the AOS. Some1 on another website said that it hints at Name chek being complete. Are there any logical reasonings behind it ? Do you think it's really a "name chek complete" LUD ???

Has any1 who has been stuck in name chek confirm that they didn't have a LUD on 485 before/around the Interview date ?

Nope. Could simply be that the paperwork was moved from one corner of the desk to another. Sorry.

I think the general interpretation of that "LUD"/touch is the file being transferred from Missouri to your local office. You certainly can't use it to interpret whether you have passed FBI namecheck or not.

We were approved, name check done at time of interview (and our time line is short) and the only touch we had before the interview was the day after biometrics.

Well, I can tell you this.

My husband had his biometrics 12/22/05 and on 12/28/05 there was a touch. I USED to think this was the entry of his biometrics into his file, until much later on I learned it was the order and response of the FBI on his FINGERPRINT clearance (not his namecheck clearance). For those who are 'new' to this, prints USUALLY are ordered and clear the same day (unless the person has a record). In the case of very efficient offices they are ordered the same day the biometric prints are captured.

We later learned my husband's FBI namecheck was ordered on 11/23/05 (just shortly after NOA1 was issued by USCIS and well before the biometric capture). I only mention that here to illustrate that NAMECHECK and FINGERPRINT CHECK are two separate processes - namecheck begins before fingerprint check.

Our interview was March 8, 2006. There were no other touches or LUD's on my husband's case other than the 12/28/05 touch until 6/22/06. We got very excited because we thought this meant the namecheck had cleared. We were wrong. My husband's case continued to languish and at the end of March 07, his biometric fingerprints expried.

Just about two weeks later, we received a notice from USCIS to report for 're-printing'. There were no touches or LUD's prior to this notice - it simply came in the mail. ONLY after the 're-print' did touches start to happen, and then they were numerous.

In other words, I don't believe a 'touch' means they are putting your namecheck clearance into your file. At least they did not with my husband's case.

name check done at time of interview

USCIS do not do the name check it is done by the FBI... so the name check can not be done during the interview....

Done BY time of interview. Better?

Point being, we didn't have to wait for name check to clear. Thanks anyway, though.
