I-130A Signature and Date

Hey Guys, A silly question...

 

I have prepared the I-130A for my spouse who's overseas, so I can send it along the I-130 form. I know it says not to sign it if the beneficiary is outside the States, BUT about the date?

Do I need to date it still? Because the the date appears to be tied to the signature, as it says: Date of Signature (mm/dd/yyyy), in which case the instruction IMO should've said:

"If you reside overseas, you still must complete Form I-130A, but you do not need to sign and date the form"
