Do they ask about your parents at the interview?

My parent's country of birth, their nationality, and whether I was born during their marriage or out of wedlock was brought up at my N400 interview---but only because I believe the IO was confirming they had never attempted to immigrate to the US before.

 

Seemed a bit odd to me, since it was obvious in my immigration file that I didn't acquire my initial GC through my parents, but whatever....

Okay. So how much of a problem is it going to be if I cannot remember their exact date of birth? Or their social security number? Definitely do not remember their alien number. But I do know their full name. My mother that is. Father was long gone before I was born.

Apart from putting my parents info on the forms no one ever asked me about my parents.. I only had 2 interviews the first was at the consulate for my K-1 and the second was at my N400.

No one is expected to know the social security number of another person, so don't worry about that one.

The odds of being asked their alien number is slim to none, since the average person wouldn't have that information readily on hand/in their memory either.

 

The amount of questions regarding your parents is probably more correlated to how one received their initial GC---if you were originally sponsored by your parent, then expect some questions about them/that, as the IO would want to determine your GC was properly approved first as part of the overall adjudication of the N400.

They just asked me if either of my parents was a US citizen. Nothing else about them after I said no.
