DACA - Can you carry pistol in Car in Texas

So since the DACA are allowed to get a Texas Drivers License, which they use SAVE System to check their immigration status and also obtain a SS Number, then it looks like it would be legal per this House Bill

The catch-22 in what's posted above, might be is that it states "any Texas resident" ... DACA has no legal residence.

If you can get a Texas Driver Licenses or a Texas ID issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, then one would be considered a resident and legal as well. And to top that off DACA have Social Security Number.  My guys DACA card state that it is not good for re entry into the USA. Other than that it's like a greencard

 

TXDPS uses USCIS SAVE System to check immigration status off applicants, and they also require a SSN

According to the dps.texas.gov website---it states you have to have "lawful presence" to obtain a driver license, which is not the same as having legal residency.

 

I'm by no means trying to be a burr in your saddle...just working my head around this as well as it's interesting!
