2 months waiting for SSN

Hello, I went to the SS Office September 14th to get my ssn and everything was fine and I waited 6 weeks and still didn’t have my card, then I decided to go to the office again and they said the woman did a few mistakes and that’s why I couldn’t get the card, the officer told me he fixed the problem and I’d get the card within a week. It’s been three weeks today and still don’t have the card. I came with K1 visa and my 90 days time is up. Did anybody have the same issue? Thank you

I have sort of similar experience as you.

 

I submitted my SSN application with my maiden name on July 27 and received the actual card 2 months later.

During the first month wait I called them a million times but got nothing useful. I ended up going to SSA twice to check it out. They resubmitted the verification request to SAVE and  a month later I got SSN. 

On Sep 25, I went to SSA again to change it to my married name and this time I had waited one and a half month before I got the new SSN card.

 

By the way the waiting time might depend on states. I am in VA.

I’m having the same problem. Applied for SSN on Aug 31st, got told there’s an issue with the system ad they have to send it away for verification which could take four weeks. 

Went back to SSA a month and a half later and got told that it could take another four weeks. No explanation just that I’ll get something in the mail in four weeks. 

Its been five weeks and nothing. Going to go in again next week.
